Fitment first: this kit fits the Fiat 500 from 2012 through 2019, and the manufacturer lists it as compatible with every trim level in that range. Earlier listings showed a 2011 start year, but Vertical Doors, Inc. confirms coverage begins at 2012. Sold under part number VDCFIAT50011, the kit replaces the 500’s factory hinges with vertical-opening hardware so the stock doors swing up lambo style instead of out into the next parking spot.
Everything arrives in one box:
- 2 Vertical Doors, Inc. lambo door hinges, one for each side of the car
- 2 gas shocks to support the doors in the raised position
- All mounting hardware needed to complete the conversion
The hinges are a direct bolt-on and mount to the car’s factory bolt pattern, and the conversion is completely reversible if you ever want to put the 500 back to stock. Each hinge is made in the USA from domestic hardened steel, and the design is patented here as well. A step-by-step instruction manual comes with the kit along with free tech support from VDI, and we recommend having a professional installer do the work using those supplied instructions.
