On a 2000-2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse, vertical doors change how the car opens up: instead of swinging out into the next parking spot, each door pivots forward and rises straight up. This kit from Vertical Doors, Inc. is built specifically for the Eclipse and fits every trim across the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 model years. Part number VDCME0005.

The hinges are a direct bolt-on and mount to the factory bolt pattern, and the conversion is completely reversible: hang on to your stock parts and the car can go back to standard doors whenever you want. The hardware is made in the USA from domestic hardened steel, and the hinge design is patented here as well. Each kit ships with a written instruction manual and VDI backs it with free tech support, but doors are big, heavy panels to align, so we recommend having the kit fitted by a professional installer working from those supplied instructions.
