Description

The 1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvette C5 sits low and wide, and vertical doors suit it: instead of swinging out into the next parking space, each door pivots forward and rotates upward on a Vertical Doors, Inc. hinge. This kit covers every C5 from 1997 through 2004 and fits all trim levels, including the Z06.

Part number VDCCHEVYCOR9704 includes:

• Two Vertical Doors, Inc. lambo door hinges, one for each side
• Two gas shocks
• All mounting hardware

The hinges are a direct bolt-on and mount to the factory bolt pattern, and the whole conversion is reversible if you want the car back to stock later. VDI builds the hinges from domestic hardened steel in the USA, and the design is patented. One C5-specific note: the front lip of each door needs trimming, with touch-up paint on the inside edge; the outside of the door is not affected. A patient owner with basic tools can handle it, but we recommend having the kit professionally installed, following the instructions supplied with the kit.
