Description

Vertical doors change how a Honda Del Sol opens up: each door swings out slightly, then pivots up on the hinge instead of hanging out into the next parking spot. This kit from Vertical Doors, Inc., part number VDCHDELSOL9397, is built for the 1993-1997 Del Sol and fits every trim across those years — 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, and 1997 all take the same hinge set. Everything for the conversion comes in the box:

  • 2 Vertical Doors, Inc. lambo door hinges, one for each side of the car
  • 2 gas shocks to hold the doors in the raised position
  • All the mounting hardware for the job

The hinges mount to the factory bolt pattern, so this is a direct bolt-on kit, and it is completely reversible — pull it off and the car goes back to stock doors. VDI builds the hinges in the USA from domestic hardened steel, and the design is patented here as well. A printed instruction manual comes packed with the kit and free tech support is an email or phone call away.
