The Saturn Sky only ran from 2007 to 2010, and this Vertical Doors, Inc. kit covers every one of those model years and all trim levels. It converts the roadster’s two doors to open vertically: instead of swinging wide into the next parking space, each door pivots up and out of the way on a purpose-built hinge. The kit is made specifically for the Sky’s chassis rather than adapted from something else, and it carries part number VDCSATSKY0710.
- 2 Vertical Doors, Inc. lambo door hinges, one for each side
- 2 gas shocks to support the doors through their travel
- All mounting hardware needed for the conversion
The hinges mount directly to the Sky’s factory bolt pattern, so this is a bolt-on job, and the conversion is completely reversible if you ever want the stock door swing back. Each kit is made in the USA from domestic hardened steel, and the design is patented here as well. An instruction manual ships with the kit and VDI backs it with free tech support, but door alignment takes care to get right, so we recommend having a professional installer do the fitting while working from the supplied instructions.
