Part number VDCSCXB0406 is the vertical lambo door hinge kit for the 2004-2007 Scion XB, built by Vertical Doors, Inc., the only manufacturer of vertical lambo door and ZLR conversions in the USA. VDI has been making these kits for more than twenty years and prototypes each one to keep the install as simple as it can be. This kit covers all trim levels of the 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 XB.

The hinges are made in the USA from domestic hardened steel, patented, and designed as a direct bolt-on that mounts to the XB’s factory bolt pattern. The conversion is completely reversible, so the doors can go back to their stock swing later if you want. An instruction manual comes in the box and free tech support is available by phone, email, or social media, but we recommend having a professional installer do the work using the instructions supplied with the kit. VDI can point you to local, nationwide, and mobile installers. Note before ordering: truck and SUV kits are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, so confirm your fitment first.

The door first swings out on the vertical pin, then lifts on the round bearing hub, and the gas shock holds it up: the two-stage motion in VDI's patent (US 6,845,547). Each kit has right and left hinge assemblies, two gas shocks, M8 bolts with washers, shoulder bolts and pins (VDI install manuals); set screw #2 and nut #1 adjust where the door closes. A typical kit, drawn from VDI's Crossfire manual: the plate, arm, brackets, shock and angles differ by vehicle, and each kit is made for its car.
