Description

At its core this is a hinge swap. The Vertical Doors Inc. kit, part number VDCHCSI0205, replaces the factory door hinges on the Civic Si hatchback with hardened steel VDI hinges that bolt straight to the stock bolt pattern, so the doors open up vertically instead of swinging out. Nothing about the car’s mounting points gets modified, and the whole conversion is reversible if you ever want to return to standard doors.

Fitment is the 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 Honda Civic Si hatchback, and it covers every trim of those years. The hinges are made in the USA from domestic hardened steel and the design is patented here as well. An instruction manual comes in the box, backed by free tech support from VDI, and while a mechanically inclined owner with basic tools can do the job, we recommend having a professional installer fit the kit using those supplied instructions so the doors align and travel the way they should.
