Description

Part number VDCBEWAG7790 comes from Vertical Doors Inc., the only company building vertical lambo door conversions in the USA, and it is made for one car: the Buick Estate Wagon. Fitment covers every trim level across the 1977 through 1990 model years, so any wagon from that fourteen-year run takes the same kit. The hinges are machined from domestic hardened steel on a design VDI has patented.

The box holds everything the conversion needs:

  • Two VDI lambo door hinges, one for each side of the car
  • Two gas shocks to control the doors on the way up and hold them there
  • All mounting hardware

This is a bolt-on kit. The hinges land on the factory bolt pattern, so nothing gets cut or fabricated to mount them, and the swap is fully reversible: unbolt the kit and the stock hinges go back in if you ever want the wagon original again. An instruction manual ships in the box and VDI backs it with free tech support, but doors are heavy, alignment-critical parts, so we recommend having a professional shop do the install using the instructions supplied with the kit.
