Part number VDCTOYTAC9504 is a vertical lambo door hinge kit built by Vertical Doors, Inc., the only company manufacturing these conversions in the USA, with more than 20 years of doing it. The kit is made specifically for the 1995-2004 Toyota Tacoma truck and fits every trim across those model years, 1995 through 2004. The hinges are made from domestic hardened steel and the design is patented in the USA.

This is a direct bolt-on kit that mounts to the Tacoma’s factory bolt pattern, and the conversion is completely reversible, so the truck can go back to its stock doors later. The work is manageable for someone mechanically inclined with basic tools, but we recommend professional installation using the instruction manual supplied with the kit, and free tech support is there if questions come up. One thing to know before ordering: truck and SUV kits are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, so double-check your year against the 1995-2004 coverage first.

The door first swings out on the vertical pin, then lifts on the round bearing hub, and the gas shock holds it up: the two-stage motion in VDI's patent (US 6,845,547). Each kit has right and left hinge assemblies, two gas shocks, M8 bolts with washers, shoulder bolts and pins (VDI install manuals); set screw #2 and nut #1 adjust where the door closes. A typical kit, drawn from VDI's Crossfire manual: the plate, arm, brackets, shock and angles differ by vehicle, and each kit is made for its car.
