Description

Part number VDCCHEVYCAP7790 comes from Vertical Doors, Inc., which has been building lambo door conversions in the USA for over 20 years. This kit fits the Chevrolet Caprice from 1977 through 1990 and covers every trim level across that whole run, so a 1979 sedan and a 1988 coupe take the same parts. The hinges are made in the USA from domestic hardened steel and the design is patented.

  • 2 Vertical Doors, Inc. lambo door hinges, one for each side
  • 2 gas shocks to lift and hold the doors
  • All mounting hardware for the install

The hinges bolt straight to the Caprice’s factory bolt pattern, so nothing about the mounting points gets cut or modified, and the kit is fully reversible if you ever want the car back on stock doors. A printed instruction manual ships in the box and VDI offers free tech support by phone, email, or social media. Even so, we recommend having a professional shop do the install using those supplied instructions, since door alignment and shock adjustment take a practiced hand to get right the first time.
